'Fly high up there Lee': Tributes at Tividale fatal crash scene as 27-year-old man named locally as Lee

Tributes have been placed at the scene of a fatal crash in Tividale where a 27-year-old man has died.

Tributes of flowers and heartfelt messages have been placed at the scene of a motorcycle crash in Tividale where a 27-year-old man sadly died.

The man, named in the tributes as Lee, was pronounced dead by paramedic officers after the motorcycle he was travelling on crashed into the central reservation of Birmingham New Road, on its junction with Hilton Road, Tividale, at around 2.35pm on Friday, September 19.

'Lee' was sadly declared dead at the scene by emergency services responders, with Detective Sergeant Julie Lyman, from the West Midlands Police serious collision unit, offering her condolences to the family. 

Now, dozens of poignant tributes lay at the scene of the fatal crash, with many remembering 'Lee' and offering their sympathies to his family and friends.

One message, left by friends, Ricky, Jo and Bella, read: "Lee, going to miss you, bro. Fly high up there. See you when I get there. Love always. Ricky, Jo and Bella."

The tributes included balloons, handmade cards and a personalised licence plate. Another message read "Lee. Ride in paradise. Love you, bro, see you on the other side. Ride in the clouds."

A police investigation is ongoing into the crash, with investigators asking anyone with information to contact them directly, via their 101 number, or on the Live Chat service on their website. 

Detective Sergeant Julie Lyman said: "This is a tragic incident, and our thoughts remain with loved ones affected. We have specialist investigators supporting them at this awful time.
