Man remanded in custody following a morning drugs raid at a Birmingham a house

A drug dealing suspect has been remanded in custody after crack cocaine and heroin were found at a house in Birmingham

A man has been charged following a drugs raid at a house in Alum Rock in Birmingham.

Asim Akram, aged 41, from Birmingham, has been charged with two counts of being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and concerned with the supply of heroin.

He has also been charged with three counts of possession with intent to supply Class A, acquire, use, or possess criminal property, two counts of possession with intent to supply Class B and concerned in the supply of Class B cannabis and ketamine.

Akram was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court today (Friday, September 19).

West Midlands Police said it follows an early morning raid on Thursday (September 18) by officers at an address in Alum Rock.

Searching the address, the team uncovered large quantities of Class A and B drugs hidden away in tubs, boxes and cabinets in different rooms.
