Tipton teacher arrested on school premises after being caught with indecent images and videos of children avoids jail

A Tipton teacher has avoided jail after being arrested at a Dudley school after being caught with indecent images and videos of children.

Benjamin Woodvine, 32, was arrested after West Midlands Police child exploitation team discovered he had uploaded indecent pictures of children on the internet.

They raided Woodvine's Monnis Avenue home and realised he was at work teaching in a Dudley school. They arrested Woodvine on school premises and confiscated several electronic devices. 

His brother who had been working in his home also handed in a phone to the police. Woodvine had nine Category A indecent images of child, which are the most disturbing images concerning age and sexual harm available.

Police also found 14 Category B indecent images of children and 14 Category C images and one video. 

Woodvine pleaded guilty to six counts of making indecent images of children between May 2023 and July 2024 at Dudley Magistrates Court and was sentenced at Wolverhampton Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday).
