West Midlands Police have teamed up with Sandwell Council to crush 10 illegal off-road bikes that were seized from the streets of Wednesbury over the last few weeks.

At the scene of Autobits Scrap Metal, on Clarkes Lane, Willenhall, a stack of ten bikes sat idly next to each other, awaiting their turn to be thrown into the industrial crushing machine.

The motorbikes, which only days before may have been riding illegally on roads in the West Midlands, were quickly turned to scrap metal as police warned of increased action against those who ride illegally on our streets.

The action comes as the force continues to work proactively with local councils in the West Midlands to stop 'nuisance' and illegal off-road bikers, with the force urging that 'this is only the beginning'.
