Man and woman charged after man left with fractured jaw in Wolverhampton robbery

A 43-year-old man was taken to hospital with a broken jaw.

Two people have appeared in court accused of robbing a man in the Whitmore Reans area of Wolverhampton.

The charge comes after an incident where police were called to the scene on Evans Street on Friday following reports that a man was attacked and robbed.

The 43-year-old was taken to hospital with a suspected fractured jaw.

West Midlands Police attended the incident and, following enquiries, arrested a man and a woman on suspicion of robbery.

Jodie Hope, aged 36, was charged with robbery and fraud, while Nigel Watt, aged 45, was also charged with robbery, as well as possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Watt was also charged with possession of an offensive weapon and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. 

The pair, who are both from Wolverhampton, are set to appear before the city's magistrates' court this morning.
