Shock photos show fire damaged house in Bearwood after four peope were led to safety

Fire crews got to a house fire in Bearwood within five minutes of receiving a 999 call this morning and remain on the scene.

The blaze in Dunsford Road was reported at 7.35am and crews from Smethwick Fire Station were rapidly on the scene.

Four people were in the property when the fire started but had evacuated their home safely. No-one was injured.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman said: "We led four people to safety who had been in the property. They had got out of the building before we arrived. 

"Our crews were on the scene within five minutes of receiving the 999 call at 7.35am."

Six fire engines in total attended the blaze and the road remained closed off to traffic at 11am. 

Fire engines and firefighters remain at the scene damping down the property and ensuring gas mains are safely shut off in the vicinity of the house.
