'We have loved serving you all': Lichfield soft play confirms shock closure
The soft play was loved by many parents and children in the Lichfield area.
The owners of Grandkidz, a soft play venue located in the Three Spires Shopping Centre, Lichfield, have announced their sudden closure in a Facebook post.
The soft play venue opened in December 2024 and featured an airport theme.
However, in the emotional post, the bosses announced the closure of the venue 'with immediate effect', adding that they have loved serving everyone in the community.
On Facebook, the group said: "Writing this really saddens us, and words can’t explain how this has affected us and how it will continue to affect us in the coming days, months and years.
"We have no option but to close with immediate effect. Lots of time, effort and our personal savings went into setting up GrandKidz.
"We really believed in this project and invested heavily, for which we will now have to face difficulties and loss.
"We both went into this with our hearts more than anything else, and pushed very hard for this to work! We really put in 110% each day, and it hasn’t worked out the way we dreamed.
!We have honestly loved serving you all, even though it’s been such a short period of time, with many we built strong friendships and felt like we had known you for years rather than months."
Customers and regular visitors to the soft play showed their heartbreak at the sudden closure, with many remembering their times there.
Facebook user, Ellie Bowen, said: "Very sad news for you as a family and a business. I thought it was a lovely, convenient place in Lichfield for families with toddlers, especially!
"The staff were always very friendly and made my daughter’s birthday a lovely day. I wish you all the best in the future."
