M6 Toll arrest after lorry driver 'deliberately' crashed into barriers near Cannock to avoid £18.50 charge

A lorry driver has been arrested after allegedly deliberately damaging booth barriers on the M6 Toll.

Staffordshire Police's Road Crime Team said the incident happened on Tuesday(Sep2) after the driver of the white cab Scania allegedly attempted to avoid the £18.50 charge.

The team posted on X:  "Today we #arrested the driver of this HGV who deliberately crashed through the barriers at the @M6tollRoad in order to avoid the £18.50 toll. 

"They have now been bailed to court for the £1200 damage they caused #OpLightning #Team4RCT."
