Boy, 14, stabbed in park in broad daylight attack as police respond to youths fighting
A 14-year-old boy suffered stab wounds following a daylight brawl between a group of youths in a Solihull park on Sunday.
The fight was reported to have taken place in Meriden Park, Chelmsley Wood, at around 5.40pm, with West Midlands Police saying that the boy's injuries are 'not believed to be life-threatening'.
No arrests have been made at this time; however, police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
A force spokesperson said: "We are investigating after a teenager was stabbed in Solihull.
"We were called to Meriden Park at around 5.40pm yesterday (Sunday) after reports of a group of youths fighting.
"A 14-year-old boy was found with stab injuries and taken to hospital.
"His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening."
Enquiries are still being held into the incident, with anyone with information relating to the fight being asked to contact West Midlands Police via their 101 number, quoting reference number 3226 of 31 August.
West Midlands Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
