Black Country tennis club lodges plans to build two new Padel courts

Another Black Country tennis club has applied to build new Padel Courts on its site.

Quarry Bank Tennis Club, Talbots Lane, Brierley Hill, has followed clubs in Wolverhampton, in wanting to give members a chance to play the fast growing sport of Padel. 

The club, which was founded in 1912, has applied to Dudley Council to build two new Padel courts. 

The application said: "The club hosts a number of floodlit all-weather tennis courts, with associated clubhouse and car park.

"The tennis club is located adjacent to Two Woods Industrial Estate and Merry Hill (A4036), Brierley Hill. To the north of the site are a number of large commercial retail units along the Blvd.

"The Proposal One of the fastest growing sports in the world, Padel is an innovative form of tennis that’s fun, easy to learn and very sociable. Played on a court about a third of the size of a tennis court, groups of mixed ages and abilities can easily play together."
