Man charged with seven knifepoint robberies at shops across the Black Country and Birmingham
West Midlands Police has charged a man with multiple knifepoint robberies at shops and supermarkets across Walsall, Sandwell, Wolverhampton and Birmingham.
Ashley James, 33, from Willenhall, has been charged with seven robberies between August 2 and 23.
He was remanded to appear at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court today (Friday) for a first hearing.

A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Reducing robbery offences is one of our force priorities and we are running Operation Ruby to tackle those committing crime, while working to spread crime prevention messaging across the region so people can take all reasonable steps possible to help keep themselves and their belongings safe."
