Deadline approaching to book on popular charity golf day supporting Wolverhampton domestic abuse charity
The deadline is approaching to book a slot on a popular charity golf day to raise money for women and children affected by domestic abuse.
The Haven Wolverhampton is inviting individuals and teams, made up of colleagues, friends, or family, to come along on Thursday, September 25 and play 18 holes of golf in support of the important cause.
The charity golf day, with its confirmed headline sponsors, WRAPP Interiors and Craig Copley & Associates, will take place at Wolverhampton’s Oxley Park Golf Club.
To attend the golf day, the entry price is £80 for individuals or £320 for teams of four, with the deadline to book on Monday, September 8, while there are also Hole Sponsorship opportunities available at £55 each.
The day will begin at the clubhouse with breakfast sandwiches, before golfers head out onto the course for a full day of 18 holes, mini competitions, and a chance to win trophies in categories such as 'nearest the pin' and 'longest drive', while an evening meal and a raffle will conclude the day.
The charity is also calling on the local business community to consider its golf day hole sponsorship options to promote themselves locally and make a positive impact on the lives of women and children.
Anna Pendlebury, Fundraising and Grants Lead at The Haven Wolverhampton, said: “It’s now the last chance to book our fun-filled charity golf day to support women and children victims and survivors of domestic abuse.
“We’re so excited to welcome the teams on the day and extend our thanks to our event sponsors as the support will make a real difference to women and children who have experienced the unimaginable trauma of domestic abuse.

"So, if you’ve not yet booked but want to make a difference while having fun, do not delay.”
Demonstrating the positive impact The Haven Wolverhampton makes, Louise, a woman who was supported by its safe accommodation team, said: "I (want) to express my deepest gratitude for the support I have received (from The Haven) since I moved into the refuge with my children.
"It was an incredibly difficult and emotional time for us leaving our home and starting over in unfamiliar surroundings.
"However, the compassion, kindness, and reassurance shown by the staff made a world of difference.
"All the staff played a significant role in helping my children feel safe and supported, and for that, I am truly grateful.
"Even after leaving the refuge, I continue to receive care and support, which has made a lasting impact on our lives.”
The Haven said that all funds raised will ensure services for women and children provided by The Haven Wolverhampton can continue.
