Essential gas main replacement work forces Dudley road closures this week
Essential gas mains replacement work in Dudley will force the closure of roads and create diversions for motorists over the next few weeks.
Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council issued a public notice concerning Gervase Drive and Woodland Avenue, Dudley.
Residents were informed the council planned to "temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding on Gervase Drive and Woodland Avenue, Dudley, for the purpose of gas mains replacement works being carried out on or near the affected road.
"The order will come into operation on August 25 and will remain in force until September 15 or until the works are completed, whichever is the earlier."
The council revealed the maximum duration of the order is 18 months. However, councils often ensure the order includes enough times for problems and delays.
Traffic will be diverted via: Forest Road, Castle MillRoad, Priory Road, Woodland Avenue, and vice versa; OR Woodland Avenue, Priory Road, The Broadway, Paganel Drive, Gervase Drive, and vice versa. Access to frontages and for emergency services.
