10 fantastic pictures show music fans and celebrities including Mr Motivator, Timmy Mallett, The Vengaboys and Nik Kershaw at spectacular Penkridge festival
Mr Motivator, Timmy Mallett, The Vengaboys and Nik Kershaw were just some of the artists visiting Penkridge this weekend.
Penkridge Open Air offered thousands of visitors a nostalgia fest of pop music and television culture and most of all a fun time over the Bank Holiday weekend.
And it doesn't stop yet, with Basil Brush, The Weather Girls, The Real Thing, Odyssey and West Midland's 80s hitmaker Jaki Graham lined up to entertain the crowds today (Sunday) with Boney M headlining.
It was the turn of Nik Kershaw, Big Country and Go West yesterday as well as the One and Only Chesney Hawkes, with over 2,000 fans packing the arena at the Monckton Recreation Centre in Penkridge where Timmy Mallet also brought his famous mallet with him.
On Friday 90s music makers The Vengaboys and N Trance took centre stage, with Mr Motivator leading the crowds in a keep fit routine in his inimitable style.
Organiser Jon Smith said they were delighted with how the festival had gone so far and the turnout and although there was a lot of nostalgia in the acts, they were still relevant to today's audiences.
He said: "This is very much a family festival and a celebration of music and popular culture and it has grown well over the five years it has been running - it was a tremendous success over the three days and we had people of all ages here.
"Whilst some of the younger members of the audience may not have been born when some of the entertainers and musicians were first around, they have enjoyed seeing them and the likes of Timmy Mallett, Mr Motivator and Basil Brush have acts and personalities which are timeless.
"Add that fun to the music of the eighties and nineties but all acts which are still producing song and touring to this day and it is a winning formula."
