Latest Black Country Food Standards Agency hygiene ratings including the Dudley cafe which closed weeks after a Zero rating
The latest food hygiene ratings have been released for the Black Country and the only establishment with a zero rating has closed.
In Dudley 40 establishments were rated in recent weeks and the results were posted on the Food Standards Agency’s website shows.
GonGoozler Cafe, at Dudley Canal Trust, Birmingham New Road, was given a zero rating after an inspection on July 15. Zero means urgent improvement is needed.
The Trust subsequently posted on social media: "our restaurant is closed due to an ongoing maintenance issue.At the moment, we don't have a timeline for reopening, but as soon as we know more, we'll make sure to let our customers know, through our website and social media platforms."
Customers were urged to bring their own picnics as the Trust canal boat rides continue.
Wrap and Juice on Dudley High Street scored the next lowest rating with a two star rating, which is improvement necessary.
The handling of food was found to be satisfactory but the premises needed improvement according to the food safety inspector.
