Two charged with drugs offences in Birmingham as part of force wide initiative

Two men have been charged in connection with drugs offences after they were stopped in Birmingham.

Officers from  Guardian Taskforce were patrolling around Selly Oak on Tuesday , when they arrested two men on suspicion of drugs offences.

Humza Rashia, 26, and Balil Jamil, 28, have both been charged with possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

The duo were remanded in custody to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (Thursday).

Project Guardian is a specialist taskforce which tackles knife crime, drug dealing and youth violence.

There is particular emphasis on reducing knife crime in under 25-year-olds, through a range of tactics from plain-clothed operations to high visibility patrols.
