A 67-year-old man has been caught watching child porn and taking pictures of children in Merry Hill Shopping Centre
After realising the filth Christopher Amyes was watching on his mobile phone and believing he was taking pictures of children a shocked diner in Merry Hill food hall phoned 999 on June 11, 2023.

When officers approached him they noticed Amyes, of Victoria Road, Quarry Bank, trying to exit the indecent video on his mobile phone. When they searched his two phones they found thousands indecent images and videos of children downloaded over three years.
He had even bought an SD card so he could store the sickening videos as his phones had ran out of memory due to the sheer amount of filth on his phones.
Amyes pleaded guilty to four counts of making indecent images and videos of children. Between February 2020 and June 2023 he made one category A video of a child, one category A image of a child, five category B images of a child and 1532 category C images of children.
