Teenager arrested after alleged abusive chants at West Midlands football match

A teenager has been arrested following offensive chanting at a football match in the West Midlands

West Midlands Police arrested a teenager last night (Wednesday, August 13) at the Birmingham City v Sheffield United match at St Andrews.

Officers said they were made aware of a video showing an offensive chant aimed at Sheffield United fans.

The boy, from Solihull, has since been arrested on suspicion of causing harassment, alarm or distress.

He remains in custody at this time while our enquiries continue.
