Police appeal to trace boy following robbery in Halesowen

Police have appealed to trace a boy who was robbed at a park in Halesowen last night (August 5).

West Midlands Police say the boy was approached on Huntingtree Road at around 6.20pm and forced to hand over his trainers.

However, after other members of the public intervened, the boy managed to get them back, and it was understood that he then left the area. 

Officers attended the scene and identified another boy who was suspected of being involved, with officers saying that he will 'be spoken to' at due course.

A force spokesperson said: "The boy was approached off Huntingtree Road at around 6.20pm and forced to hand over his trainers.

"However, after others intervened, the boy managed to get them back. It's understood he then left the area with family members."

The force said they are interested in finding the boy who was robbed to 'check on his welfare'. 

They said: "However, we're keen to identify the boy who was robbed so we can check on their welfare and obtain more information about what happened.

"We'd ask his family to contact us via 101 and quote crime reference number 20/334154/25."
