Man charged with 15 thefts from Wolverhampton and Bilston shops
A man was due to appear in court this morning (Tuesday), accused of stealing hundreds of pounds worth of goods from shops across Bilston and Wolverhampton.
Neighbourhood officers from West Midlands Police arrested a man in the East Park area on Sunday as part of an investigation into a series of thefts from stores throughout the wider city centre
James Horton, aged 37, was later charged with 15 offences of thefts from shops across Bilston and Wolverhampton, as well as failing or refusing to provide a sample of a Class A drugs test.
Horton, of Green Lane, Wolverhampton was due to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates Court this morning.
A West Midlands Police spokesman said: "Our officers are working with local retailers and store security to identify persistent offenders and any emerging trends or hotspots.
"This work forms part of the national #SaferStreetsSummer initiative to tackle retail crime and anti social behaviour on local high streets, town and city centres.
