The Overfield Road centre has been closed for seven years and Dudley Council put the property up for sale two years ago with a guide price of £150,000.

Mans Auto Design were given permission last week to change the use of the building from a neighbourhood office to a car workshop after first applying in December.

The company specialises in building and fitting kits for Rolls Royce owners as well as replacing parts on the exclusive and expensive cars.

Approving the application, Dudley planning officer James Mead said: "The proposed development would provide job opportunities within the area and ensure the building is in a viable and suitable use."

A campaign to revive the centre as a community hub and youth centre failed before the building was sold at auction.
