MP tells annoyed motorists 'nightmare' Great Bridge roundabout 'will be improved'
The 'nightmare' Great Bridge roundabout 'will be'improved' claims Tipton and Wednesbury MP.
Labour MP Antonia Bance has told residents there will be improvements to the Great Bridge roundabout which has become a magnet for congestion.
She told residents in social media post: "Loads of people have raised concerns with me about congestion and safety at the Great Bridge roundabout.

"It’s been hard to get to the bottom of what was promised to local residents. What is happening soon is improvements to the bus lanes, but there isn’t (yet – read on!) a plan for a more general scheme to sort out the roundabout."
Such has been the level of concerns about the island, which has a statue of two lions, the MP raised the Black Country route roundabout's problems with Sandwell Council and the West Midlands Combined Authority.
She added: "Over the last few weeks I have met with Sandwell Council and spoken to the West Midlands Combined Authority.
"Our Labour government have allocated £2.4bn to the WMCA for transport improvements including road improvements – so there is money to bid for.
"Sandwell Council have said they will consider putting this scheme forward to be considered for this funding when it is allocated in spring 2026. So fingers crossed – and I will update more as I have it."

There were more than 40 comments on the MP's Facebook post with local motorists giving their views about what has caused the congestion.
Anthony Paskin said: "One of the main issues is the pedestrian lights just off the island that holds up then blocks the island. Especially the ones going up towards Ocker Hill then there's the general hold up of traffic by volume going up towards Dudley port. "People ignoring the keep clear boxes is another."
Carla O Meara added: "Bus lanes? They've just took up half the road with bike lanes. This has been a conversation that has been going for years so I don't see it changing any time soon."
Jayde Mills said: "Half the problem is drivers not using the correct lanes, that roundabout is a nightmare."
