Appeal launched after woman's handbag snatched on busy Birmingham road

An appeal has been launched to ask for public help identifying a man following a handbag being snatched on a busy road.

West Midlands Police have launched the appeal and issued an image of a man it said it wants help identifying following the robbery incident.

It saw a handbag being snatched from a woman on Saturday, July 5 at around 3.30pm on Stratford Road.

The force has asked for anyone with any information to get in touch.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We need your help to identify this man following a robbery in Balsall Heath.

"At around 3.30pm on Saturday, July 5, a woman had her handbag snatched after a trip to a jewellery shop on Stratford Road.

"If you can name the man in the CCTV, call us now on 101 quoting reference number: 20/298973/25.

"You can also share your information with the Crimestoppers charity. 

"They’ll never ask your name or trace your call and you may be entitled to a cash reward.
