Prostitute and partner hatched a plan to rob client at rented Wednesfield property which ultimately led to his death
A prostitute and her partner killed a man in Wednesfield after a plan to rob him went wrong.
Wolverhampton Crown Court heard how prostitute Vasilica Bornescu and 'minder' and partner Ovidiu Gurita hatched a plan to drug Ricardo Maragliano so they could pinch his prized possessions including a Rolex watch worth £35k.
Jailing Bornescu and Gurita for over 38 years collectively for manslaughter and murder respectively, Judge Simon Drew KC said Bornescu had known Mr Maragliano for over three years and considered him a 'special client,' allowing him to call her by her first name.
The court heard how a previous attempt to drug him had failed because she had 'lost her nerve.'
But on the night in question, May 30 2023, she had 'invited him to party' and even said he could have sex for free at the room he rented in Thorneycroft Avenue, Wednesfield.
