A family have paid tribute to their son who died on an industrial premises in Birmingham

Two men have been charged following the death of Ako Azizpour at the premises on Tyburn Road, Erdington.

Mr Azizpour, who was 27, was unloading pallets of glass from a container on February 8 2024, when he became trapped.

Police were called to the scene alongside fire and ambulance colleagues but tragically, despite the best efforts of those responding, Mr Azizpour was pronounced dead at the scene.

Alongside the Health & Safety Executive, police began a thorough investigation and subsequently charged two men from Birmingham.

Nashwan Amin, aged 28, has been charged with gross negligence manslaughter and perverting the course of justice.

Razwan Amin, aged 26, has been charged with perverting the course of justice.

Both appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Wednesday (July 16) and have been bailed with strict conditions to appear at Birmingham Crown Court next month.

Mr Azizpour’s parents, who are from Iran, have today released a picture of him.

In a statement they said it is still difficult to believe they lost their son, and said they are demanding justice over his death, West Midlands Police said.
