Popeyes has announced that it will be bringing another taste of its New Orleans fried chicken to Birmingham, with the launch of its newest restaurant located at New Street Station at 11am on Thursday, July 24.

Following the recent openings at Birmingham Fort, Wednesbury, Tyseley and Birmingham Airport, the brand’s first airport location in the UK, Popeyes is continuing to bring its unique New Orleans-style menu to the West Midlands with a sixth restaurant in the region.

Marking its 27th opening this year and 90th across the country, Popeyes will be bringing a taste of New Orleans hospitality to travellers with a range of launch day offers at Birmingham New Street station.

The new restaurant will be located at Unit 35 at New Street Station, with plans including 70 internal and 24 external  seats and self-service kiosks.

To celebrate the launch day, the first three people in the queue will win free Chicken Sandwiches for a whole year, while the first 50 customers will be treated to exclusive Popeyes UK merchandise and the first 100 customers will bag a free Chicken Sandwich.

The team at Popeyes is advising customers to get down early to avoid missing out on the opening day’s giveaways, with recently opened Birmingham Fort seeing queue times of up to 27 hours ahead of launch day.

With both dine-in and takeaway options available, fried chicken fans travelling via New Street will soon be able to enjoy Popeyes fan-favourites like the Chicken Sandwich, Hot Wings, Tenders, and Signature Chicken Wraps.

All of Popeyes chicken is marinated for 12 hours in a signature blend of Louisiana seasoning, then hand-breaded and battered.

The Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich is making its return following unprecedented calls from fans for its comeback and will be available at the new restaurant.

The sandwich is a sweet and spicy twist on the Popeyes classic and is drizzled with Hot Honey sauce, topped with Cheddar cheese and pickles, and served in a soft brioche bun.

The Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich is joined by the return of the Hot Honey range, featuring the brand-new Hot Honey Saucin’ Boneless, the return of Hot Honey Saucin’ Wings, and the Hot Honey Box Meal.

Tom Crowley, Popeyes UK CEO, said: “The response across the West Midlands to our recent openings has been phenomenal.

"Now, with our newest spot at Birmingham New Street Station, we’re thrilled to serve up even more bold Louisiana flavours to both locals and travellers passing through the city’s busiest hub.”
