Police dog Scout praised after arrest made following reports of a stabbing in Birmingham

A West Midlands Police dog has been praised for helping arrest a man following reports of a stabbing.

The incident happened in Birmingham yesterday (Wednesday, July 16). The West Midlands Police Dog Unit posted a picture of police dog (PD) Scout after the arrest.

The unit posted on social media: "PD Scout and handler were called to the report of a stabbing in Birmingham tonight.

"Being first to arrive they were pointed towards the location of the offender, entered the property and promptly found and detained them." 

Thanks to the raid weapons were taken out of the community, the unit added: "Weapons recovered from scene and one in custody."

On X, formerly Twitter, Karen replied: "Great result by PD Scout and handler, well done." Anne added: "Brilliant work. Well done Scout."
