Early-morning crash at Himley junction causes tailbacks and traffic delays
Motorists have been warned to avoid Himley after a collision this morning sparked tailbacks and delays of more than 40 minutes.
The crash happened at around 6am and there were tailbacks for several miles. Emergency services were at the scene at the A449's junction with the B4176 at Himley House.
The AA said: "Partially blocked and traffic heavier than normal due to crash and traffic signal failure on A449 Wolverhampton Road both ways at B4176 Dudley Road (Himley Crossroads)."
Motorist Helen Dawn posted on social media: "Huge hold-up on A449 at Himley House junction. Police, ambulances and fire brigade all there."
Dudley resident Stuart Slater drove past the scene this morning. He said: "I went past at 6am this morning and hadn’t long happened."
