Man, 32, charged with religiously aggravated hate crimes in Birmingham
A 32-year-old man has been charged with racially aggravated hate crimes after an incident where threats were made to the Jewish community.
Imran Parkes, 32, of Kings Heath, Birmingham, has been charged with two counts of malicious communications offences after officers received reports of a man making threats to the Jewish community.
Parkes also appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court in connection with a separate incident, for which he was charged with threatening a person with a bladed article.
He appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court today, where he was conditionally bailed to appear before the court at a later date.
A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Imran Parkes was arrested on Sunday (13 July) after we received reports of a man making threats to the Jewish community.
"The 32-year-old from Kings Heath, Birmingham, has now been charged with two malicious communications offences. He also appeared in connection with a separate incident, for which he was charged with threatening a person with a bladed article."
