Dudley Council have said that a number of regular routes will be closed this week while staff control the local rat population.

Councillor Damian Corfield, cabinet member for neighbourhoods, said: "There is a partial closure to some of the access routes at Mary Stevens Park this week as we undertake routine pest control work.

“The park remains open as normal as we undertake this work, and visitors can use alternative access points."

It is unknown as of yet the extent of the rat population in the park, with Dudley Council expected to complete the work by the end of the week.
