With Black Country Day just around the corner and thousands of people itching to take part in a multitude of Black Country-themed events, we asked the question, 'What is the most iconic Black Country saying?'.

Black Country Day falls on July 14 each year, and celebrates not only the history and significance of the region, but also the uniqueness of its people.

Arguably, the most unique aspect of the Black Country is its dialect. Known as 'yam yam', it's a whole new language unto itself, having been developed over generations.

So long has it been a thing, that many of us have stories from our grandparents saying that their grandparents spoke fluent 'yam yam'.

So, in celebration of our iconic style of speech, we decided to ask Wolverhampton shoppers for their favourite phrase that you would only hear around our region.
