'We're a community and we love to celebrate that': Mad O'Rourke's Pie Factory gets into Black Country Day spirit with a special creation you won't want to miss
A pub and restaurant seen as a Black Country institution is getting into the spirit to help mark the annual celebration of the region.
A visit to Mad O'Rourke's Pie Factory in Tipton is like taking a step into the past, with sawdust on the floors and plenty of Black Country memorabilia on the wall, as well as a warm welcome from the staff.
Known for its wide selection of pies and other Black Country delicacies, plus its own trademarked beer called Lump Hammer, the pub and restaurant on Hurst Lane has been at the forefront of the culinary scene in the region since it first opened in 1987.
Current owner Pete Towler and his team have been creative with the pies they create, with a curry-influenced pie called Ruby Murray and a tribute to Tyson Fury full of brisket and onions among the major creations.

Now, as part of celebrations of Black Country Day on Monday, July 14, Mad O'Rourke's will be offering a special pie for the week, which will be full of steak, ale and black pudding.
