The body of a teenage boy has been pulled from a lake at a West Midlands beauty spot after he went missing in the water during the latest heatwave.

The youngster got into difficulty while swimming at Sutton Park, which is one of the biggest urban parks in Europe.

Specialist rescue teams began searching for the missing lad and his body was recovered from Powells Pool shortly after 6pm yesterday (Thursday, July 10).

West Midlands Police said his family have been informed and are being supported by specially-trained officers.

His death is not being treated as suspicious.
