Birmingham Jazz and Blues Festival: Everything you need to know to attend this year's Sandwell-based music event
Sandwell Council has announced that it will support this year's Birmingham Jazz and Blues festival once again.
The annual Birmingham Jazz and Blues festival, run by Big Bear Music, will return on July 18, bringing more than a week of musical history to hundreds of libraries across Sandwell.
The festival, which forms part of the Black Country Day 2025 events, has been running since 1985 and has grown to be one of Europe's largest free jazz parties.
This year, the group is celebrating the 41st Birmingham Jazz and Blues Festival, featuring 230 jazz and blues performances, talks, workshops and film showings, nearly all free of charge.
Shokat Lal, chief executive of Sandwell Council, said: "This festival is not only a showcase of musical talent but also a platform to inspire everyone to encourage and celebrate our homegrown artists from Sandwell.

"We continue to support events that share Sandwell's stories to inspire residents and beyond to know the greatness of our borough. Events such as this evidence that our campaign about making it in Sandwell is much more than just an aspiration."
With 115 venues across the West Midlands participating, there will be plenty of free music events across Sandwell to get involved in.
The event runs from July 18 to July 27, 2025, with tickets available on on the TicketSource website.
