Police seize knife after stopping teenager in Codsall

Police have found a knife after stopping a teenage boy in Codsall following concerns from people in the area.

They reported the incident at around 4pm yesterday (Tuesday) when police were told the teenage boy had brandished a knife on Watery Lane.

Officers went there and stopped a suspect matching the description of the boy. When he was searched, a knife was found and seized.

Sergeant Alexander Lloyd-Davies, from the South Staffordshire local policing team (LPU) said: “We’re continuing to tackle knife crime and other community priorities as robustly as possible across Staffordshire.

"As part of our routine patrols and hotspot targeting, we’ve got officers working proactively every single day on our streets to proactively investigate crime and to focus on the issues that people care about the most, including anti-social behaviour, serious violence and knife crime.”
