United By 2022’s dedicated Volunteer Collective has supported a busy schedule of events across the West Midlands this summer, helping to deliver positive impact to local communities.

Throughout June, the Volunteer Collective supported five key events across the region, with 42 volunteers involved and 183 volunteering hours donated during the month.

United By 2022, the legacy charity of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, launched the Volunteer Collective in 2023, with the platform designed to connect volunteers with opportunities throughout the West Midlands, and give them the chance to be part of the Games’ ongoing legacy in the city and beyond.

From sports and music, to arts and culture, the Volunteer Collective said it aims to support events across all sectors, with a focus on continuing the community values and ethos of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Volunteers from the collective were present at Wolverhampton Pride on June 7, the British Junior Para Swimming Championships in Coventry on June 7 and 8, the Extreme Wheels Weekender in Wolverhampton on June 14 and 14, the Boldmere Summer Festival in Sutton Coldfield on June 22 and Armed Forces Day in Wolverhampton on June 28.
