Molineux's Diogo Jota tribute: 14 emotional pictures show sea of flowers, shirts and scarves at home of Wolves
Molineux has become a hub for heartfelt tributes following the tragic death of former Wolves star Diogo Jota.
The 28-year-old Portuguese international and his brother Andre, 25, were killed in the early hours of Thursday, July 3 after a car crash in Spain, believed to have been caused by a tyre blowout.
Flowers, scarves and shirts were first laid outside the Billy Wright Stand on Thursday morning, within hours of the news breaking, with thousands more descending on the ground to pay their respects over the next few days.
A fans' favourite during his time at Molineux, Jota made 131 appearances for the club between 2017 and 2020, scoring 44 goals and helping Nuno Espirito Santo's side earn promotion to the Premier League and back-to-back European campaigns.
He was a Liverpool player at the time of his death, having won the Premier League with the Merseyside club earlier this year.
Former Wolves captain Conor Coady called Jota "the heart and soul of the dressing room" after his former teammate's tragic death, while club legend Dave Edwards described his feeling of "utter disbelief and an overwhelming sense of sorrow for their family" at the news.
