Man 'in critical condition' after Birmingham assault
Police are investigating after a man was assaulted in Birmingham
The man in his 50s assaulted on Springfield Road, Kings Heath at around 5pm on Monday
He was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition.
A cordon remains in place and police are carrying out CCTV, house to house and other enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Shereen Ballentine, of Birmingham Police, said: “This was an appalling assault at what was a very busy time, with people walking and driving through the area.
“I’d appeal for anyone with CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
"Reassurance patrols will be carried out in the coming days."
