Teenager charged with attempted murder after boy, 15, stabbed in Birmingham

A teenager has been charged with attempted murder after another boy was stabbed.

The 16-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was arrested on Friday (July 4) after a 15-year-old suffered a stab wound in Pretoria Road, Bordesley Green, Birmingham earlier that day.

The victim was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening. Now the 16-year-old has now been charged with attempted murder and has been remanded into custody to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court on Tuesday (July 8).

West Midlands Police said that a 14-year-old boy who also arrested in connection with the incident has been bailed with strict conditions.

Officers have asked for anyone who saw the incident or has any information to get in touch.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to Pretoria Road shortly before 7.30pm on Friday, where the boy was found with a stab wound.

"He was taken to hospital though his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

"We are continuing our enquiries and are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the events leading up to the assault.
