In an exclusive interview at West Midlands Police's Lloyd House headquarters, a senior officer spoke of the deadly results of dangerous driving following the death of two-year-old Shehbaz Singh.

Sharjeel Shahzad, 30, was jailed for more than 15 years at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Friday (July 4) after pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving at an earlier hearing.

The court heard how Shahzad fled the scene after he ploughed head-on into a Toyota Auris on Dartmouth Road, Smethwick, on December 14 last year, killing Shehbaz Singh and seriously injuring four adults, including the two-year-old's parents.
