Two arrested after stabbing on Walsall streets - as police appeal for witnesses
Two people have been arrested following a stabbing in Walsall, which saw a man rushed to hospital. Now, police are appealing for witnesses.
West Midlands Police has launched the appeal following the attack on Stafford Street in Walsall.
The incident happened around 8.30am and saw a man receive a number of stab injuries, before being taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
A 21-year-old man and 19-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remain in custody while enquiries continue.
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We’re appealing for witnesses after a man was stabbed in Walsall.
"We were called to Stafford Street at around 8.30am this morning (Wed) after a man received a number of stab injuries.
"He was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.
"We quickly arrested a 21-year-old man and 19-year-old woman on suspicion of attempted murder. They remain in custody as we continue with our enquiries."
Detective Sergeant Jason Fowler said: “We would like to speak to witnesses especially people who have mobile phone or dashcam footage of the incident.
"Anyone with any information should call us on 101 quoting log number 1144 of 2 July.
"Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.”
"We will have extra officers in the area today and over the coming days to offer reassurance to the community."
