Willenhall is gearing up for weekend of live music, street food and classic cars to drum up trade

Live music fans will be making a pit stop in Willenhall ahead of the town's popular transport show this weekend to enjoy some entertainment and boost trade at the same time.

Town centre retailers shave been struggling in recent weeks due to the impact of two major roadworks in Bilston Street, New Road and Somerford Place, but the market traders and shops are fighting back. On Saturday

Willenhall Pit Stop featuring live music performances will be staged in Market Place from 11am-3pm in an effort to both attract more shoppers and promote the Willenhall Transport Show which will be on Sunday(29) in Willenhall Memorial Park in Pinson Road.

Nigel Dutton, of Willenhall Lock Stock, says: "Music lovers to further support the summer of festivals in Willenhall on Saturday June 28,  in Willenhall Market we will be supporting Willenhall Pit Stop which is a collaboration with Willenhall Transport Show, Willenhall Market and local food outlets.

"This is a first of its kind in an attempt to bring more footfall into the town around festival weekends and if supported will extend throughout the year. So far, we have secured Stacy’s burgers, Brownie Bake Company, Khalis Sweet Centre, Mediterranean Fish Bar plus local cafes offering pavement dining

"We also have the Lock Stock pop up stage with music from 11 and live performances from Jen at 12 noon performing a Motown set and the Reggae Boys Featuring Michelle at 1pm.

"A few classic cars will be on display as a preview to Willenhall Transport Show the next day in the park .Food, cars, music for free 11am till 3pm Willenhall Market. Please support the town."
