Three arrests in Lichfield and Dudley after £75,000 worth of drugs and £12,000 cash found by police

Three people were arrested after a large quantity of drugs and cash was found by police in Lichfield and Dudley.

Officers from Staffordshire Police stopped a car in Lichfield and, after conducting a search, found cocaine and a mobile phone.

A 32-year-old man, from Lichfield, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug and refusing to provide a sample in custody, while a 29-year-old man, from Dudley, was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

A later search of a house in Dudley uncovered an estimated £35,000 worth of cocaine, £40,000 worth of cannabis and £12,500 in cash and saw a 32-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Police said: "£75,000 worth of drugs and £12,000 in cash have been found after we arrested people in Lichfield.

"We stopped a car in the area yesterday (Tuesday 24 June) and searched two people inside. Cocaine and a mobile phone were found.

"A 32-year-old man, from Lichfield, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug and refusing to provide a sample in custody. 

"A 29-year-old man, from Dudley, was also arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a class A drug.

"Officers then searched a house in Dudley and found an estimated £35,000-worth of cocaine, £40,000-worth of cannabis and £12,500 in cash.

"A 32-year-old woman, from Dudley, was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class A drug.

"All three will be questioned in custody.

"We’re continuing to take the fight to organised crime as part of our Operation Target commitment. 

"Since it was launched in May 2023, more than 1,000 people have been arrested on suspicion of drug and weapon offences, and more will be coming."
