Prostitute and pimp plotted to drug and kill man in Wednesfield, court told
A working prostitute and her pimp and partner beat a man to death in a Wednesfield house after first drugging him, a court has heard.
Vasilica Bornescu, 34, and Ovidiu Gurita, 38, are charged with the murder of Ricardo Maragliano in Wednesfield, Wolverhampton on May 30 2023.
The first day of the trial of the pair at Wolverhampton Crown Court heard prostitute Bornescu and her partner Gurita then tried to pawn Mr Maragliano's jewellery including a gold chain, ring and a Rolex watch worth £7,000, making trips to Stafford, East London and Worcester in the aftermath of his killing, before being arrested.
Bornescu, of Anlaby Road, Hull and Gurita of Bath Road, Worcester are charged with his murder. They have already pleaded guilty to administering a drug with intent to commit theft and conspiracy to supply a controlled class A drug.
