Wolverhampton fire: Bags of coal to blame for blaze at Wolverhampton merchants' yard - 30 firefighters tackle incident
Around 30 firefighters tackled a fire at a coal yard near Wolverhampton in the early hours after a pallet erupted into flames.
The incident on Tuesday(24) morning involved four bags of coal being stored at the James Durrans & Sons Group Ltd merchants yard in Anchor Road, Coseley.
A clean operation is under way after West Midlands Fire Service said it sent six crews to douse the flames and smoke shortly before 2am.
Firefighters posted about the incident urging to ‘avoid the area’.

A member of staff from the coal merchant's, who did not want to be named, said it was business as usual despite the disruption.

"When I got here this morning the fire was already out. We're now cleaning up," the man explained.
Delivery lorries have been arriving as normal at the site off the Birmingham New Road.
Fire crews were due to return this morning to check for heat spots.
