Police probe 'deliberate' blaze at a petrol station in Wall Health

A fire at a petrol station in Wall Health is being treated as arson by police.

Police are asking for information following a fire at a Texaco garage on Kidderminster Road, Wall Heath on Saturday, June 14. 

Emergency services rushed to the scene of Kidderminster Road, at around 7.45pm to reports of a fire at the Wall Heath Service Station.

One fire engine was sent from Brierley Hill fire station, where fire crews discovered that cardboard stored in a metal cage had been set alight. 

Fire crews used hose reels to extinguish the flames, and later confirmed through CCTV footage that the blaze was started deliberately.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesperson said: "At around 7.45pm on Saturday 14 June, we were called to a fire at Wall Heath Service Station on Kidderminster Road. One fire engine from Brierley Hill fire station attended.

"The fire involved cardboard stored in a metal cage. Firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the flames. CCTV footage confirmed the fire was started deliberately."

West Midlands Police have since launched an appeal for information into the blaze, asking anyone with information to contact them directly. 

A West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "We were alerted to a fire which happened in Kidderminster Road, Wall Heath, on Saturday evening (14 June).

"The blaze is being treated as arson and anyone with information can contact us via 101 and quote 20/274670/25."
