Firefighters battle blaze involving scrap waste in Brierley Hill

Fire crews rushed to tackle a blaze involving scrap waste and tyres in Brierley Hill.

Firefighters were called to Brick Kiln Street shortly before 9.30am on Monday (June 16).

Three fire engines from stations across the Dudley borough were sent to the scene.

The blaze was confirmed to be out within 20 minutes.

A West Midlands Fire Service spokesman added: "Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.

"The fire was confirmed to be out shortly before 9.50am. There were no reports of any casualties."

Images posted to social media show plumes of black smoke coming from the scene of the fire.
