Two months after suffering serious injuries in a track crash, ex-Wolves speedway rider Tai Woffinden says he is making a slow but steady recovery.

The three-time world champion was left in an induced coma after colliding with a teammate while competing for his club Rzeszow in Poland on March 30. His injuries included a double break in his right leg, a broken back, broken shoulder, multiple broken ribs, a punctured lung and a fractured arm which resulted in him being airlifted to hospital.

Speaking to the Express & Star this week the 34-year-old explained that he is focusing on recovering from his injuries and recording some more music, having taken up DJing in recent years.

He also told how in the aftermath of the incident his worried wife Faye flew from their Australian home via the UK to get to his hospital bedside in Poland, not knowing whether he was going to survive.
