Thousands of speeding offences have been recorded on Black Country roads with some drivers reaching alarming speeds of 100mph on 30mph routes, according to data from West Midlands Police.

The alarming findings are being higlighted amid a call for a change in the law to crackdown on deadly anti-social driving and street racing in the West Midlands.

Sedgley Cllr Damian Corfield is campaigning for Ben's Law in memory of his beloved son who was killed aged 19 while watching a street racing event in Oldbury in 2022 with his friend Liberty Charris.

Cllr Corfield wants the Government make it a criminal offence to organise, promote or attend unofficial road racing events.

We are urging readers to back Cllr Corfield's call for a change in the law in memory of Ben by signing this online petition.
