Members of Walsall Independent Saddlers Supporters Association (ISSA) have organised a charity night at their headquarters at the Walsall London Midland Railway Club's Association. (LMRCA)

The Northern Soul and Ska disco night will see Walsall fans and others come together to help with the costs of being re-homed and starting again.

Dave Beckett from ISSA said: "Since the fire Dave and Lin have effectively been homeless for the last six weeks have had to stay in a room at a local hotel.

"Aside from the huge immediate upheaval caused by the fire, they have since found out most of their possessions which hadn’t already gone in the fire have been destroyed by water damage.

"Luckily Dave and Lin have managed to find a new house but it is currently not ready for them to move in - They have effectively got to start again as they have nothing.

"Along with the costs associated with starting again, they also lost a substantial amount of money on a holiday which they was due to go on shortly after the fire took place which they was unable to claim the costs for on their insurance.

"Dave is a well known character around Bloxwich and anyone who knows him, are fully aware that he would do anything to help anyone out.

"Both Dave and Lin would hate the limelight created from this event but it is a great chance for us to all pull together and do something nice for a lovely couple whose lives have been turned upside down."

A charity auction and lucky draw will accompany the disco at the club, in Wednesbury Road which starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £10 each with the money to be presented to the couple on the night.
